The great race understood that it was more important to have a career than to have a sustainable population. Well it was important for the women to have a career, who cares about the men. They understood that state run day cares were more important than love. They understood the importance of punitive divorce legislation, where men are universally in the wrong.
they understood that by cloning their species could be rejuvinated. well if anyone was willing to submit to a career as a daycare worker sadly no one did and the clones all died.
